VOORHEES, N.J. (WPVI) -- Yoga in Voorhees studio is a place to exercise and eat healthy too, because it doubles as a vegan cafe.
Jessica Gardner's journey started 14-years-ago.
She started yoga as a way to really heal herself.
"I started yoga when I was 19-years-old, and I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. And, at 16 I had thyroid cancer," said Jessica.
With each class she realized the impact yoga could have on her body and mind.
"Over time I saw more results, and now its become something that's more of a lifestyle," added Jessica.
Her journey inspired her to help others the same way. She opened her own studio, Yoga in Voorhees, specializing in hot yoga and the bikrim method.
Jessica said, "Most people who come, first they have to get used to the concept of what it is, it's so different."
It can be very hot in there.
Along with the bikrim classes, she's added a raw vegan cafe with a menu of healthy options.
Everything is fresh and organic.
Jessica dehydrates the Kale chips and raw flaxseed crackers herself.
Yoga Voorhees may be the only studio that also has a cafe.
"Well the cafe just supports the whole lifestyle of everything. So over time, people would say to me, how do you eat, and what do you eat? I wanted to give them a place to see what I eat," said Jessica.
