2 gunmen sought in North Philadelphia food market robbery

Police are looking for two armed suspects who robbed a food market in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for two armed men who robbed a food market in North Philadelphia Saturday morning.

It happened at 8:30 a m. inside the Food Market Store located on the 2400 block of Germantown Avenue.

One suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk while the second tried to open a locked door to gain access behind the counter.

The clerk opened up the cash register drawer to the suspects before locking herself in a back room.

The pair grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the drawer before casually leaving the store - even taking time to pick up some of the stolen money they dropped by the front door on their way out.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, 25 years-old, 5'6" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt, tan pants, white sneakers, white face mask, and purple or pink gloves.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 25 years-old, 5'8" tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black boots, black face mask, and black gloves.
