Girl, 11, joins Rider Univ. basketball team

The Rider University women's basketball team in New Jersey announced 11-year-old Savanna Galasso as its newest team member.

The entry was made possible through a non-profit that helps to improve the quality of life for children facing serious illnesses.

Earlier this year, Savanna had a transplant to fight a kidney disorder.

Unfortunately the disease has returned and Savanna is now part of a clinical trial to hold off dialysis.
