5-year-old who died after falling from 4th-story Allentown apartment window identified

LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Five-year-old Ahnelly Grace Rivera is being remembered as a sweet and friendly little girl with a smile as bright as her personality.

Ahnelly was a kindergartener at Seven Generations Charter School in Emmaus.

School principal Paul Hunter says she was a bright light that will never be forgotten.

"She brought joy to our classes and to our teachers and she brought joy to the kids as well," said Hunter.

It was right around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday when Ahnelly fell four stories to her death from her family apartment along West Hamilton Street.

Details have not been released, but investigators announced Wednesday that they are approaching this case as a tragic accident.

All while the Lehigh County Coroner confirms the cause of death was blunt force head trauma from a fall.

Action News spoke with neighbors who also live in the Livingston Apartment Building who say they are simply heartbroken.

Neighbor Jessica Bunzey says, "I feel absolutely horrible for the family and I hope they can get through this, honestly. It's horrible what happened and I can't imagine it happening to myself. I wouldn't want it to happen to anybody."

Meanwhile, Paul Hunter is preparing for the inevitable task of helping Ahnelly's friends and classmates through this painful experience.

He says, "You draw back and you think about why you're here and why you're in education. You're there for the kids, so let's be strong for them, let's teach them how to deal with this social situation, how to deal with the loss, and then grow from that."
