MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- A massive Main Line estate will soon become a 42-acre public garden.

The Haas family is donating its estate called "Stoneleigh" to the Natural Lands Trust.

Leonard Haas, whose father was the chairman of the chemical giant Rohm and Haas, choked up as he remembered how his parents enjoyed sharing the beauty of their property with the public.

The land sits along Spring Mill Road.

The gardens will open to the public in about 18 months.
