2 indicted in slaying of Medford woman found stabbed to death in Camden park

CAMDEN, New Jersey -- Two men charged in the stabbing death of a woman found in a southern New Jersey park last year have been indicted on murder charges.

Luis Colon-Molina, 36, and Wilfredo Boulones-Cruz, 50, both of Camden, also face charges of felony murder, armed robbery, carjacking and weapons offenses in the indictment that was recently handed up by a Camden County grand jury. It was made public Friday by the county prosecutor's office.

It's not known if either man has retained an attorney.

The charges stem from the Dec. 2 slaying of Hayley Steinberg, 31. She was found by county police who responded to reports of an unconscious woman in Camden's Farnham Park. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, and an autopsy determined she died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the upper body.

An hour before Steinberg was found, Delaware River Port Authority police officers had responded to a stopped car on the Ben Franklin Bridge. They learned the vehicle was registered to Steinberg's mother and that Steinberg was known to use it.

Colon-Molina and Boulnes-Cruz were found walking in the area of the bridge and said their car had run out of gas. After the DPRA officers helped them push Steinberg's vehicle off the bridge, authorities said the two men ran off on foot.

A large amount of blood was soon found in the vehicle.

Surveillance video showed that the day before her body was found, Steinberg drove to the Camden home where Colon-Molina and Boulnes-Cruz lived and later drove away with both men in the vehicle. The car was captured on video later that day entering the park and then being driven out five minutes later.
