CORPUS CHRISTIE, Texas (WPVI) -- A team of doctors in Corpus Christie, Texas, says they now plan to separate two conjoined sisters in February.

Scarlet and Ximena Hernandez-Poole are part of a set of identical triplets born in May.

They share a pelvis and lower intestinal tract, including colon, rectum and bladder.

Surgeons have mapped out the operation, and are continually rehearsing parts of it.

They have also been using expanders to gradually stretch the little girls' skin for the reconstructive work.

Although the girls are joined, hospital staffers say they have two distinct personalities.
