For some, Thanksgiving indulgence triggers food addiction: Ali Gorman reports during Action News at 5pm on November 22, 2017. (WPVI)

For most people Thanksgiving is a happy, comfortable holiday where it's okay to indulge a bit on the food.

But for some people, Thanksgiving can be a tough day.

This is especially true for anyone who has a food addiction or suffers from over-eating or bulimia.

So "Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous" has scheduled a meeting to offer extra support.

Annabelle, a local member who remains anonymous, told us about her struggle.

" My particular food addiction was mostly sugar and flour products. I would eat anything, but in really massive quantities. It wasn't unusual for me to have a binge of 10,000 calories," she said. "Food addiction was destroying my life, and this program put me back on track."

She and others will be supporting each other at a meeting on Thanksgiving. If you'd like to join it's from 9am to 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Havertown.
