A local gym is using a popular piece of equipment to help people get stronger and leaner.

HORSHAM, Pa. (WPVI) -- It starts with cardio to get your heart pumping. Then Gravity Training at Horsham Athletic Club will have you pushing, pulling, working your core and stretching your body.

"We try to hit every single thing in every training," said trainer Jewel Kessler.

Trainers Jewel Kessler and Holly Fosnot created the classes around the Gravity Training System.

You may have seen it on an infomercial. It's made by Total Gym and touted by Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley.

But Jewel says it's not just about the machine, it's what you do with it.

Their class takes people through a 45-minute, full-body workout. You can use 5 to 60 percent of your body weight for resistance. Everything is adjustable.

"The higher you are, the more resistance or body weight you are going to use," said Kessler.

New to the class, I started on a lower level.

But Jacque Blum has been doing the class for years.

"I don't think I've ever had the same workout twice," said Blum of Holland, Pennsylvania.

She tells me gravity training turned mush into muscles.

Same goes for her 65-year-old husband Rick. He lost 30 pounds doing the workout, and says it's gentle on his joints.

The trainers say Gravity Training two to three times a week will make you stronger and leaner, with more definition.

Dorie Litten and her husband agree.

"It completely changed my body in a really short amount of time," said Litten.
