Victims of child sex abuse have a new place to turn for help in North Philadelphia.

JUNIATA PARK (WPVI) -- Victims of child sex abuse have a new place to turn for help in North Philadelphia.

A state-of-the-art medical facility opened today at the Philadelphia Safety Collaborative on the 300 block of East Hunting Park Avenue in Juniata Park.

Its mission is to minimize the trauma for sex abuse victims by providing an alternative place for follow-up visits and treatment, instead of an extra trip to the hospital.

The center will be staffed by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Saint Christopher's.

The doctors will be trained to provide court testimony on their evaluations.
