If you're trying to lose or maintain your weight, a simple thing you can do is pack your lunch.

Many people have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather to get more exercise.

If you're trying to lose or maintain your weight, another simple thing you can do is pack your lunch.

Not only will you save money, but studies show you'll also save calories because you have more control over your food.

Nutritionists recommend the "plate rule."

Two-thirds of your plate will be filled with non-starchy vegetables.

The rest with lean protein and whole grains.

To save time, you can pack leftovers from dinner the night before.

And bring portable snacks such as fruit or yogurt so you have something if you're on the go.

It all comes down to planning. If you have healthy food with you, you'll eat healthy.

Otherwise, you might hit the vending machine or other not-so-healthy options, and then you undo all the hard work you've been putting in.
