VIDEO: Confusing thirst with hunger
One study found people who didn't drink enough water were more likely to be overweight.

We all know staying hydrated is good for your body, but cannot drinking enough cause you to gain weight?

One study says yes.

It found people who didn't drink enough water were more likely to be overweight.

One reason could be that sometimes our bodies confuse thirst with hunger.

There's no science to back up how much you need to drink every day.

That depends on your weight, activity level, the temperature and other factors.

But generally you should try to drink enough so that you rarely feel thirsty and so that the color of your urine is light.

Water is the best option.

You can also drink decaffeinated tea or coffee or carbonated water.

And eating fruits and vegetables during the day will also help you stay hydrated.
