Walmart offering opioid disposal packet

One key problem in the opioid crisis is how to keep leftover prescriptions from falling into the wrong hands, and being abused.

Walmart is now offering a free product at all of its pharmacies, to help prevent that.

Dispose-RX comes in a small packet.

Just put warm water into unwanted medications, then add Dispose-RX and shake.

It turns the drugs into a useless, but bio-degradable gel, which can be tossed out.

The medication can't be used.

Anyone filling a new opioid prescription at Walmart will get Dispose-RX and instructions.

About a third of medications sold go unused.
