Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday morning for Philadelphia FIGHT's prayer breakfast.

The executive director of the organization, Jane Shull, says we have the tools to end the AIDS epidemic including medication to treat and medication to prevent the spread of the disease in people at high risk.

More than one million Americans are living with HIV, but it's estimated one in six doesn't know they're infected.

That's why screening is vital.

"Find out if you're infect or not, know your status, and recognize knowing this information means only that you will find out about the medicine that you can take," Shull said.

Thanks to breakthroughs in medication, people with HIV can live long and healthy lives.
