For the first time in 20 years, life expectancy has fallen in the U.S.

For the first time in 20 years, life expectancy has fallen in the U.S.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, it's come down slightly for both men and women.

Heart disease, Alzheimer's and drug overdoses are taking more lives.

But the most notable increase was an 11 percent jump in accidental deaths to babies under the age of 1.

Study authors say most of those children died from suffocation or strangulation in bed.
