NEW YORK (WPVI) -- About 30,000 cases of Sabra hummus sold nationwide are being recalled due to a possible Listeria contamination.

Meanwhile, three people have died after eating listeria-tainted ice cream products from Blue Bell, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced this week.

The news follows a multi-brand spinach recall, again over listeria.

Listeria is a food-borne illness that can cause high fevers and nausea in minor cases, but the infections can be fatal to people with weakened immune systems and young children, along with causing miscarriages in pregnant women.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the Sabra products.

The Sabra Dipping Co. is a joint venture of PepsiCo and Strauss Group.

The recalled products include:

-Sabra Classic Hummus in 10-ounce sizes with UPC/SKU 040822011143 / 300067

-Sabra Classic Hummus in 30-ounce sizes with UPC/SKU 040822014687 / 300074

-Sabra Classic Hummus without Garnish in 32 ounce sizes with UPC/SKU 040822342049 / 301216

-Sabra Classic Hummus in 17-ounce six-packs with UPC/SKU 040822017497 / 301290

-Hummus Dual Pack Classic/Garlic 23.5 ounce with UPC/SKU 040822342209 / 301283

As for Blue Bell, federal health authorities today increased the number of people sickened by the foodborne illness tied to the ice cream.

The CDC added 3 cases in Texas which have a similar strain of listeria to that previously found in 5 others at a hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

The 3 in Texas were also hospitalized at some point between 2011 and 2014 for unrelated problem when they became sick with listeriosis.

According to the CDC, preliminary tests indicate another three people hospitalized appear to have a similar strain of listeria as those involved in the current outbreak. However, the CDC says further testing is needed,

The ice cream maker has already recalled single-serving cups in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors.

On Tuesday, Blue Bell also recalled banana cream flavor products made in its Broken Arrow, Oklahoma plant, which it voluntarily shut down last weekend. Eight people were hospitalized in Texas and Kansas, and three of them died, according to the CDC.

The recall included supermarkets in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming, according to Blue Bell.

The Texas Rangers baseball club said Wednesday they won't offer Blue Ball at their upcoming homestand with the Houston Astros.

The Astros took Blue Bell ice cream off the opening-day menu on Monday.

Amy's Kitchen and three other companies - Rising Moon Organics, Superior Foods, Inc., and Twin City Foods, Inc. - voluntarily recalled organic and conventional spinach products last month. Twin City Foods said its products were sold at Wegmans Supermarkets, Inc., which also issued a separate recall because the spinach was sold under the Wegmans brand name.
