Teen bicyclist struck and killed in Hunting Park identified

We now know the name of the bicyclist who was hit and killed over the weekend in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section.

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- Police have identified the teenage boy struck and killed while riding his bicycle Sunday afternoon in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.



17-year-old Tyrone Alexander Tillman of the 1900 block of East Atlantic Street had completed his junior year at Edison High School and was planning to attend as a senior this fall.



He was struck after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 2nd and Bristol Streets by a driver who police say kept going.



Tillman was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.



Police located the striking vehicle and suspected driver a short time later at 7th and Atlantic Street.



The driver was taken into custody, provided a statement to police and was released pending further investigation.



So far no charges have been filed in the case.
