Arrests made in ice cream machine theft in Fern Rock

FERN ROCK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have arrested two suspects who stole an ice cream machine from inside a cafe in the city's Fern Rock section.

41-year-old Rashid Izzard and 37-year-old Bryant Pearl, both from the 2100 block of Eastburn Avenue, were taken into custody on Tuesday.

The pair were caught on surveillance video stealing a $9,000 ice cream maker from the back room at Ron's Cafe on the 5700 block of North Broad Street back on September 29th.

Police were tipped off by an anonymous caller who spotted the vehicle seen on surveillance. The ice cream machine was found in their garage.

Both Izzard and Pearl have been charged with theft and related offenses.
