GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A new outlet mall opening in a few months brought out thousands of people on Friday looking for employment.
The Gloucester Premium Outlets complex, boasting no less than 90 stores, opens in Blackwood in mid-August.
About 90 top stored will open, providing 800 people jobs.
By the thousands, job seekers braved long lines in the sweltering sun at Camden County College on Friday.
"I'm in school but I need to get a job and get some job experience and to make some money," said Alexis Balmores.
"Maybe something like in Calvin Klein shoes, any place I can make good money from, anything to pay the bills," said Christian Petty.
The mayor is pleased to see this boom of development in his town.
"This is tremendous for jobs and more development here in Gloucester Township," said Mayor David Mayer.
The crowd count of job applicants reached about 5,000 - all hoping for a quick call back.
"I'm a proud navy veteran who has been jobless for two years now. At this point anything will do," said Bob Witkowski.
"It's a very good thing having this out here. It's a good thing for the community, it's been good for me so far," said Neikie Singleton.
