LAUREL SPRINGS, N.J. (WPVI) -- Kids in South Jersey are learning that police officers are their friends.
The Gloucester Township Police Department is holding it's annual junior police academy for the next 4 weeks.
Every week a new group of cadets learn about weapon safety, bike safety, K-9 training, physical fitness and more.
Police Cadet Timia Brown is getting the most out of it. "I think it's really fun even though in the morning it's like really hot and we have to do a lot of workouts out there."
The officers say their goal is to teach the kids to be partners with the police.
This is the 5th year for the junior academy in Gloucester Township.
