SPRING GARDEN (WPVI) -- He is the biggest loser in the entire Philadelphia Fire Department, which actually makes him the biggest winner.

Lieutenant Edward Manko lost more weight than any other firefighter in the battle of the badges.

The annual weight loss competition pits the fire department against the police, to raise money for the families of fallen heroes.

Although police won overall, Manko took the title in the fire department.

He plans to share his prize, a keurig coffee maker, with his colleagues at engine eleven.
