CHRISTIANA, Del. (WPVI) -- The fire marshal has determined that a fire at a New Castle County home early Saturday morning was intentionally set.

Michael E. Williams of Wilmington was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree reckless endangering, arson 1st degree, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

Officials tell Action News the fire broke out around 5 a.m. Saturday in the unit block of Saratoga Drive in Christiana.

Firefighters arrived to the scene to find heavy fire and smoke conditions.

The family inside the home managed to escape safely through a back door.

Investigators say the fire started on the first floor and was started by Williams.

The fire caused approximately $200,000 in damage to the residence.

There were no injuries reported.

The residents are being assisted by the Red Cross of Delmarva.
