SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man in his 80s was taken to the hospital after a fire in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on the 2100 block of South Alden Street.

When firefighters arrived, flames and smoke were pouring out of the first floor.

Crews brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes.

The man was being treated in the hospital for smoke inhalation. He is in stable condition.

The fire marshal is looking for the cause.
