GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- An apartment fire in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, has killed one man and critically injured a woman and child.

An ambulance crew was the first to arrive and fought their way into the apartment to reach the victims.

Flames broke out around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Washington Avenue in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.

EMS crews pulled two people from the apartment. Firefighters then arrived and reached two more in the unit.

A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 30s was taken by ambulance to Cooper University Hospital where she is in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation.

A 10-year-old girl was flown to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children where she is in critical condition with burns.

The county prosecutor's arson unit and the state police fire marshal are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
