Man shot in head while riding bike in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was shot in the head at point blank range while riding a bike in West Philadelphia, police say.

It happened around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday on the 6100 block of Lansdowne Avenue.

The 49-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras to see if they help identify a suspect.
