Man shot in the back in South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a gunman shot a man in the back twice as the victim was getting into a car in South Philadelphia.

It happened Thursday night along the 1800 block of South 4th Street near Moore Street.

Action News is told the 26-year-old victim managed to run to 5th Street.

Officers rushed him to an area hospital in stable condition.

Investigators are working to determine who shot him and why.
