Pennsylvania Medical Society wants marijuana research

The Pennsylvania Medical Society wants the state to fund scientific research on valid medical uses for marijuana.

Federal research is being hampered because marijuana is classified as a controlled substance.

But the group says patients and doctors need answers, such as the conditions it might help as well as cases where it might do more harm than good.

Several lawmakers are trying to legalize medical marijuana, but the medical society says it's too soon.
