VIDEO: Mayor accused of using handicap placards of dead residents
Watch the report from Action News at 4:30 p.m. on December 8, 2017.

The mayor of a city in Florida is accused of going to great lengths to secure herself a prime parking spot.

Polk County Detectives have arrested the newly elected mayor of Davenort, Darlene Bradley.

They say she's been using the handicap placards of deceased residents for her own personal car.

Now, city commissioners are asking that the governor step in to suspend her.

As for Bradley, she's offered an excuse to the whole thing through her lawyer.

She says she was recently the victim of a carjacking, and needed the placards to park, "as close to the door as possible."
