SANTA ANA, Calif. (WPVI) -- Family and friends are gathering in California to remember the University of Pennsylvania student who was found dead there last week.

A memorial for 19-year-old Blaze Bernstein was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday local time.

Bernstein's body was discovered last Tuesday.

He was home on winter break when he went missing after meeting up with a high school friend.

Police say DNA evidence has linked that friend, 20-year-old Samuel Woodward, to his death.

Woodward is now behind bars, but so far no charges have been filed.

Officials are waiting for autopsy results to determine the exact cause of Bernstein's death.

Disturbing social media posts surfaced over the weekend in which Woodward said if he could learn a new skill it would be "waterboarding."

And when asked about his attitude toward cannibals, he replied, "They've got the right idea."
