Local military family reunited for Christmas

The holidays will be extra special for a local military family, stationed in Hawaii.

You may remember this video of 16-month-old Joey Lenahan plopping down on a welcome home banner after recognizing his deployed dad on it.

Joey's Marine father, Nikk, had been away from his son and wife, Amanda, for more than six months.

That all changed Tuesday when Nikk came home.

Action News viewer Laura Daccardi LaPorte sent us these photos of her grandson spotting his dad, then sprinting towards him as fast as his toddler legs would go.

Though the family won't be spending Christmas at home in Egg Harbor Township, they're finally back together.

The Lenahans, of course, marked the joyous occasion with a picture in front of that banner little Joey obsessed over so many weeks ago.
