HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- Two stolen cargo vehicles - thefts that raised the alarm of police - have been recovered in Philadelphia.

A stolen Penske truck was found empty at 1:20 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Rising Sun Avenue.

It was towed away by police for further investigation.

A few hours later, a U-Haul van was found on the 2200 block of Lehigh Avenue. That vehicle was also empty.

Investigators told Action News earlier that the missing vehicles were a cause for concern considering some big events in the city this weekend, including the Broad Street Run on Sunday.

The U-Haul van was rented out to a homeless man. Police say two men approached him in Center City asking him if he had a good ID. Then they got him to open an account at TD Bank.

Police released a picture of one of the men they are looking for, seen on surveillance escorting the homeless man into the bank.

The suspects then brought the homeless man to a U-Haul at 101 West Hunting Park Avenue to get the van.

Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan says, "They said that they would meet up with him later to return the van, at which time he would be paid. Needless to say, he was never contacted again and the van was never recovered."
