SPRINGFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A Springfield Township, Montgomery Co. rehabilitation and respite care center is dealing with a burst pipe and subsequent flood Monday evening.

Representatives from Fairview Care Center of Paper Mill said a pipe in a non-patient area on the first floor of the building burst just after 2 p.m.

A flood occurred following the break, and the center was using a generator to supply power to the building while crews were working to contain the situation.

"Due to the cold temperatures and in an abundance of caution, we have decided to relocate all of the patients and residents to other area skilled nursing centers," said spokesperson Jeanne Moore. "We are currently notifying all family members in advance of the move, and will keep them updated when their loved one is safely settled at the new location."

Officials said in all 108 patients and residents will be relocated.
