Children make holiday cards for veterans: Jeannette Reyes reports on Action News at 6 p.m., December 11, 2017

DELRAN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Dozens of local troops stationed abroad for the holidays will be getting warm wishes from home.

The children at the Kiddie Academy of Delran spent Monday morning making greeting cards for American soldiers.

Many students at this pre-school have a parent or family member in the military.

In drawing these cards the children are learning important lessons about generosity and compassion.

"I think the earlier they know to give back the best, because it will help them to grow into better people," said Teacher Elizabeth Biggs.

About 100 students dropped their messages into this mailbox throughout the day.

The cards will be picked up Tuesday to be mailed overseas.
