CARNEYS POINT TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A jackknifed tractor-trailer caught fire on I-295 southbound in Salem County.

It happened around 4 a.m. Thursday past Route 48 in Carneys Point Township.

Police say the driver, identified as 45-year-old Robert Brown of Moorestown, was killed after the truck lost control, jackknifed, and left the road into woods.

The truck then burst into flames, resulting in the woods catching fire.

A nearby house also caught fire due to the crash.

The roadway was blocked for about six hours while authorities investigated.
