Suspect sought in Kensington grocery store burglary

Philadelphia police are searching for a burglar who broke into a grocery store in the city's Kensington section.

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a burglar who targeted a grocery store in the city's Kensington section early Sunday morning.

Police say the thief broke into Ventura Groceries on the 600 block of East Hilton Street shortly before 6 a.m. by breaking a hole in the roof.

Surveillance video shows the man wandering the aisles and making his way to the cash register area.

He got away with an unknown amount of cash, several cartons of cigarettes and some bus tokens.

The man then fled the store after unsuccessfully trying to break into the ATM machine.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male with a mustache, thin build and long hair.
