Wilmington police visit 6-year-old shooting victim in hospital

WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- Police in Delaware paid a special visit on Thursday to a little girl who remains in the hospital after being shot earlier this week.

Wilmington Police Chief Bobby Cummings and Cpl. Diana Brown stopped by the A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital to spend some time with 6-year-old Armoni Fields and her mother, Aerion Fields.

Cpl. Brown is the school resource officer at Armoni's school.

Armoni was shot in the knee on Monday on the 800 block of Bennett Street.

Police are still investigating the incident.
