Armed men rob Newark 7-Eleven

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Newark area 7-Eleven.

The incident occurred approximately 2:00 a.m. Sunday at the 7-Eleven on the 600 block of East Chestnut Hill Road in the Augusta Square Shopping Center.

Police say two men confronted a male employee at the counter.

The suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and demanded the cash from the register.

The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspects then fled the area in an unknown direction.

No one was injured in this incident.
