Suspect sought in cell phone store robbery in Strawberry Mansion

Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who robbed a cell phone store in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.

STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who robbed a cell phone store in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.

Surveillance video captured the crime back on October 6 at the Metro PCS Store on the 2300 block of North 29th Street.

The male suspect can be seen walking up to the counter just after 10 a m. dressed in full Muslim garb.

He reaches into a blue bag and simulated a gun before going behind the counter and taking an unknown amount of cash from the registers.

The thief then forced the employees into a back room before fleeing the scene.

There were no injuries reported.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with a dark complexion and 6'0" tall. He was wearing red Timberland boots, a full black Muslim garb covering his face and carrying a blue bag.
