Police search for bicycle thief in South Philadelphia

Police are searching for a thief who stole a locked bicycle in South Philadelphia.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a thief who stole a locked bicycle in South Philadelphia.

Surveillance video shows the suspect casing a bicycle on the 1300 block of South 10th Street just before 3 p.m. back on October 8.

After cutting the chain and lock with bolt cutters, the thief briefly walks away to make sure no one had seen him.

Minutes later, he returns and walks away with the bicycle in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, 30-years-old with a thin build, medium complexion and short, dark colored hair. He was wearing a white short sleeve shirt, dark colored pants, and light colored sneakers.
