WWE: Authorities confirm no specific, credible info on ISIS threat against Survivor Series
The WWE says law enforcement has confirmed there is no specific or credible information involving an ISIS threat against Sunday's Survivor Series event in Atlanta.
In a statement released to 6abc Action News, the WWE says:
FBI officials confirmed Saturday they were taking seriously a report about an ISIS threat at the WWE Survivor Series.
The FBI released the following statement to ABC Atlanta affiliate WSB:
Atlanta, Georgia venue and event. While we take all threats seriously, we
do not have specific or credible information of an attack at this time. We
have, however, made the proper notifications as we continue to work closely
with our law enforcement and private sector partners to keep our community
safe.
The hacker group Anonymous said Saturday that it had uncovered information about Islamic State group attacks in Paris as well as locations in the U.S.
According to the Philips Arena's website, the venue can accommodate anywhere from 17,700 people for a concert and 18,118 for a basketball game.
The Survivor Series is WWE's annual November event that began on Thanksgiving Day in 1987.
