1 hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash on Route 896 in Del.

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are on the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Route 896 in Newark.

Police and medics were dispatched at 2:48 p.m. Friday to the highway at A Street for reports of entrapment.

One person was extricated, police say, from a vehicle by 3:10 p.m.

That person was taken to Christiana Hospital. Their condition is unknown.

Police say the crash involved a box truck, dark-colored sedan and a school bus.

No students were on the school bus at the time of the accident, police say.

Police are investigating.
