Police: Suspect steals from Toms River home as family sleeps

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Toms River, New Jersey are searching for a burglary suspect who stole items from a home while a family was asleep.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Wyoming Drive.

Police say a male entered the home while the family including children was sleeping.

The suspect stole two purses and then fled the house.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect entering and leaving.

The suspect is identified as a white male, possibly in his early to mid-20s, wearing a zip up Champion hooded sweatshirt, jeans and what appear to be two-toned Addias flip flops (possibly black and white).
