LAWRENCE TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A high school science teacher from Mercer County has been charged with inappropriate contact with a female student.

26-year-old Edmund Harman is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal sexual contact.

Prosecutors say it happened in February when the student went early to Harman's classroom at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville seeking extra credit.

Authorities say Harman fondled the student's breasts, kissed the back of her neck, and massaged her back and legs.

They also say he told the girl to send him naked photographs of herself.

Harman was arrested Monday afternoon following a joint investigation conducted by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit and the Lawrence Township Police Department.

Bail has been set at $150,000.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Mercer County Prosecutor's Detective Ahmad Mansur at (609) 989-6568 or Lawrence Police Detective Todd Caruso at (609) 896-1111.
