Car hits restaurant in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person was hurt after a car slammed into a restaurant in South Philadelphia.

It happened at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at Pearl of East Restaurant in the 2000 block of West Oregon Avenue.

Police say the driver lost control and hit the business.

Medics took one person to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. There was no immediate word on that person's condition.

Investigators were working to determine what caused the driver to lose control.
