Police: Woman shot during suspected robbery in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman was injured after being shot during a suspected robbery in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday along the unit block of North 52nd Street.

Police say the victim, described only as a woman, was shot in the wrist and chest.

She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect fled with the woman's purse, according to police.

Police are investigating.
