2-alarm fire erupts in Upper Darby apartment building

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Some residents of an Upper Darby apartment building have been displaced by a two-alarm fire.

The blaze was reported around 11:30 a.m. Sunday at 2020 Garrett Road.

Police officers were the first to arrive on scene and began rescuing people inside.

Once fire crews arrived, they quickly struck the 2nd alarm.

The fire was brought under control just before 12 p.m.

One officer was being treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

So far there is no word on a cause of the fire.
