2 children in car when gunman opens fire, injuring father

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is fighting for his life after he was shot outside of his home in West Philadelphia.

The shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday along the 5500 block of Spring Street.

We know at least one bullet critically injured the driver as he tried to park his car.

The victim's 3- and 7-year-old children were inside the car when the shots shattered his driver's side window. Luckily, the children were not hit by the gunfire.

Police are still looking for the shooter.

Detectives are also trying to figure out if the victim and his children were the intended targets.
