It happened at 6:15 a.m. Monday on Route 72 near Warren Grove Whiting Road in Woodland.

WOODLAND TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Two people were injured in an accident Monday morning in Woodland Township, New Jersey.

The accident around 6:15 a.m. when police say a 28-year-old driver failed to stay in the lane while traveling east on Route 72 near Warren Whiting Road.

His van crashed into another van traveling westbound.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene showed what appeared to be two vans, both with extensive damage.

The crash had lanes of Route 72 closed until around 7:50 a.m.

Both drivers are hospitalized in serious condition at Capital Health Regional Medical Center and Cooper Hospital, respectively.

The accident remains under investigation.

No drugs or alcohol are suspected.

Police say the 28-year-old was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
