2 officers injured in hit and run crash in Juniata Park

Two Philadelphia police officers were injured in a hit and run accident in the Juniata Park neighborhood at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

JUNIATA PARK (WPVI) -- Two Philadelphia police officers were injured in a hit and run accident in the Juniata Park neighborhood at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The plain clothes officers were in an unmarked car when they were rear-ended near the intersection of G. St. and E. Erie Ave.

After the crash, the police vehicle hit a parked car and then hit the Coca-Cola building where it came to rest.

Two Philadelphia police officers were injured in a hit and run accident in the Juniata Park neighborhood at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The officers were able to walk out of the vehicle after the crash.

They were taken to the hospital to be checked out for leg and neck injuries.

Police don't yet know if the suspect knew that officers were inside of that vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle is only described as a dark colored smaller car with front end damage.

Police say that vehicle fled westbound on E. Erie Ave.
