PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia 76ers legend Julius 'Dr. J' Erving is thanking his fans after a health scare over the weekend.

Erving tweeted a picture of himself with his family on Monday night.

He wrote: "Fully recovered... and hanging with my wife and son. Thank you all for the love and well wishes!"

The 67-year-old Hall of Famer became ill while attending Friday's game at the Wells Fargo Center. He rang the ceremonial Liberty Bell before tipoff.

Dr. J spent the night at the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Erving led the Sixers to their most recent NBA championship in 1983 and was the 1981 NBA MVP.
